Dr Joshua Sapong Knudsen
Orthopaedic Surgeon MBChB FRACS (Orthopaedic)
Mr. Joshua Sapong-Knudsen is a New Zealand-trained orthopedic surgeon dedicated to restoring mobility, relieving pain, and helping patients return to the activities they love. A proud local who attended Rosmini College, Joshua is of both Māori and Chuukese descent. He brings a deeply holistic, patient-centered approach to his practice, combining cutting-edge surgical expertise with a genuine connection to the community.
Joshua’s understanding of human biomechanics and physical resilience is uniquely informed by his personal background in elite athletics. As an accomplished martial artist and dedicated ultra-runner, he understands firsthand the intense physical demands placed on the human body, the frustration of injury, and the absolute necessity of a structured, tailored recovery plan. In fact it was an injury he sustained during sports that put him on the path to becoming an Orthopaedic Surgeon himself. Whether you are an elite athlete aiming to get back to peak performance, a weekend warrior, or someone simply looking to walk pain-free, Joshua aligns his clinical goals with your personal lifestyle needs.
