You might have seen Heidi on TV—it’s being used all over New Zealand Emergency Departments to help doctors treat patients.
We’re using it too
You’ll notice a microphone on the desk when you walk into the consult room. It’s listening to our conversation and creating a letter from the transcription. We double-check everything it writes before sending it to you.
Why we’re using it:
– Instead of waiting days to get your letter, you only have to wait a few hours—this means you can read it and check it while the information is still fresh in your mind.
– Heidi is secure—there are strict guidelines on how companies (like Heidi) have to protect your information.
– Most of all, Heidi allows us to focus on you. Remember going to doctors where they spend more time concentrating on their computer than actually looking at you? Heidi allows us to not have to worry about documenting the important points (it does it for us) instead we can focus on listening to you.
