Dr Tim Roberts

Dr Tim Roberts is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in conditions of the hip and knee. He has a special interest in managing both arthritic and non-arthritic conditions.

Surgeries Dr Roberts provides include hip arthroscopy, hip preservation surgery and hip and knee replacements, knee arthroscopy, ligament surgery as well as general orthopaedic procedures and trauma-related surgery.

Tim is a New Zealand trained orthopaedic surgeon who was born in regional New Zealand.  He moved to Auckland to complete his medical studies at the University of Auckland. He then underwent subspecialist training in the UK, completing a fellowship in knee surgery at the Bristol Royal Infirmary and Southmead Hospitals, and fellowships in hip and knee surgery at the Royal London Hospital.  Tim then completed further fellowship training in hip preservation and sports surgery at Orthosports in Auckland.  He routinely uses the Mako robot to carry out knee surgery to ensure faster recovery time and ensure minimal tissue damage during surgery.

Tim is an orthopaedic consultant at North Shore Hospital where he trains junior doctors and medical students, as well as managing general orthopaedic conditions and trauma, while maintaining a private practice and being dad to three young children.
